General Description of Position:
The Director serves to support the operations of assigned locations. This position collaborates with leadership of academic programs, student services, facilities, and public safety, as well as the service area’s senior leadership team, to help provide quality service to students, faculty, staff, and the communities served. Reporting to the Executive Director of Administrative Services, this position will be a member of the Administrative Services leadership team.
Major Responsibilities:
Oversee the buildings for the assigned locations and become familiar with all aspects of operations.
Understand which spaces are utilized by which programs and assist with evaluating requests for more space.
Promote the use of defined protocols for reporting facilities concerns with all building occupants.
Know the academic programs that are offered in the buildings to answer general questions and refer students, community members and other inquiries to the correct office/person.
Know the faculty and staff in the buildings in order to work with them to meets the needs of the services being offered. In addition, know the services offered centrally at other campus locations to best direct needs of students, faculty, staff, and community members who need services not offered on-site at the assigned locations. This includes all aspects of the enrollment process and student experience. While this position is not responsible for supervising academic or student services employees, the position is responsible for ensuring that the services are easy to navigate and accessible for all students.
Meet with on-site and service area leadership on a regular basis to gather and share information on plans for the assigned locations, staff updates, projects, issues, etc. This includes facilities needs, student services, public safety, academics, and other areas as needed.
Oversee, train and supervise Academic Support Associates assigned to the reception desks.
Schedule Academic Support Associate staff ensuring coverage during designated hours of operation.
Implement and maintain a regular communication strategy with building personnel. This strategy should include regular formal updates sent via email at least monthly, informal conversations in groups or individually, and scheduled meetings.
Support the operation of copiers and student-facing printers. Maintain appropriate supplies, and act as a liaison with the Information Technology and the contracted copier service contractor as needed to resolve issues.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
Two years’ work experience in this field, working with diverse populations
Experience in higher education as an instructor or instructional coordinator, or comparable private sector experience is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, interpersonal skills are essential, and experience in curriculum design
Able to handle difficult situations to reach positive solutions
Strong communication skills, strong computer knowledge, ability to work as a team member and work under stress
Have at least two years’ experience in higher education as an instructor or instructional coordinator, or comparable private sector experience
Lifting of information material boxes weighing up to 25 pounds may be required
Work on own initiative Computer skills must include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
