Description:
The School of Biomedical Sciences is one of six schools that form the Faculty of Health at the University of Plymouth. Its programmes are accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists, and the Association for Nutrition. The successful candidate will be required to have completed or to undertake study for a teaching qualification. ****The School is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Microbiology. You will contribute to teaching across the range of our programmes, and your enthusiasm for your subject will extend to providing excellent teaching and mentoring at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate levels, informed by excellent scholarship and your own research experience. The School fosters collaborative research and supports the development of real-world impact. A key strength is our close relationship with NHS partners and breadth of staff expertise across the faculty. You will have access to some of the best-resourced laboratories in the UK, including the Derriford Research Facility on our North Campus, pursuing research grounded in the real world of clinical health care. You will become a member of the Plymouth Institute of Health and Care Research and collaborate with other researchers across the faculty and beyond. You should be able to provide evidence of a strong motivation towards a career in higher education and the delivery of high quality teaching and research activities.
