General Description of Position:
The Express Enrollment Center Secretary must possess excellent analytical skills, strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, and demonstrate excellent customer service in order to welcome and facilitate entering students into the department’s queuing system and directing them to appropriate services by understanding through processes related to:
Admissions
Registration
Financial Aid
Orientation
Assessment
Bursar
The Secretary must have in depth knowledge regarding various areas of the college in order to direct students and assist in the development of work-study students. This position also conducts other general clerical assignments.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provide general information about admissions, registration, financial aid, orientation, assessment, and Busar support functions.
• Assist with all special projects and mailings, as well as provide filing, data entry, telephone and clerical assistant for the Express Enrollment Center.
• Read and understand forms for multiple departments and provide proper forms to customers.
• Verify completeness of forms and accompanying materials being turned in to the Express Enrollment Center.
• Direct students to the correct location or refer to Student Services Professional.
• Greet visitors and students, clarify and answer general questions, and/or enter student into queuing systems to be seen by a SSP.
• Share general college and Express Enrollment Center information to students.
• Collect and date-stamp student forms for back office/processing support.
• Function effectively in a team environment.
• Maintain working knowledge of emergency/safety procedures provided by supervisor.
• Be knowledgeable of the location of the electronic and hard copy of procedures when applicable in order to deliver information as needed to customers.
• Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred.
• Prior experience providing direct service to customers.
• Two years of relevant experience, but prefer at least two years of direct experience in one or more of the following areas: registration, records, financial aid, admissions, or higher education.
• High level of experience with Microsoft Office.
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Pleasant disposition, good attitude, and ability to get along with others.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team oriented environment.
• Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
• Must not be in default on an education loan or in overpayment of a federal grant or loan.
