We are seeking an outstanding individual to make a contribution to teaching within the field of computer games development. You will be joining the Games and Artificial Intelligence group, which is responsible for the delivery of the BSc (Hons) and MComp Computer Science for Games and MSc Artificial Intelligence courses.
You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality learning experience to students and contributing to the development of new and exciting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be expected to be involved in module leadership and delivery, to contribute specialist topics, to supervise dissertations, liaise with industrial partners and to engage in academic and applied research.
As well as the ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences, you'll need well developed and current knowledge of practical and theoretical issues in computer games development and a good honours degree in either computer science, software engineering or games development. A postgraduate degree or PhD in a relevant discipline or close to completion is desirable.
We will especially consider applicants with recent industrial experience in any of the following games-related areas:
Unreal Engine and Unity development, including C and C#, as well as experience with their environments and supporting tools.
Sony PlayStation 4 development, including C , as well as experience with the PlayStation 4 development tools and libraries.
Network programming in computer games, including experience of implementing massive-multiplayer games, addressing latency issues, using industry standard libraries in this area.
We are not looking for applicants in artificial intelligence in games at this time.
