of the Transplant and LVAD Programs. The supervisor works independently in
conjunction with the transplant nurse manager to providing leadership and
communication to staff, managing human resources, ensuring the delivery of
competent clinical care and adhering to regulatory agency guidelines and

Minimum
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Registered Nurse
Minimum years in field
previous to employment: • 5 years Nursing Experience • Transplant experience required
Position
Responsibilities • Develop and monitor staff orientation plans. Orient all new staff and
retrain existing staff on topics including:• Regulatory requirements during
each phase of transplant or VAD from CMS, The Joint Commission, UNOS, LifeGift
and DNV• Transplant and VAD databases, UNET and Phoenix• Clinical and
donor call• Device training for LVAD• Living donation and paired
donation for kidney transplant• Oversee clinical and administrative
processes and workflows, engaging program staff, clinic staff, physician leaders
and administration.• Manage transplant cycle times, including time from
referrals, evaluations, Medical Review Board and listings.• Develop
transplant specific ongoing education for inpatient and outpatient
nursing.• Lead staff in completing performance improvement and quality
activities, utilizing a multidisciplinary model.• Oversee and validate data
collection. Coordinate reviews of Adverse Events and develop corrective action
plans in collaboration with the Quality Department.• Stay current with
federal regulatory governing bodies to determine new mandatory changes.
Communicate these guidelines to staff in a timely basis and change processes
accordingly.• Lead review of Active List meetings and oversee department
specific dashboards. • Participate in planning multidisciplinary activities
including clinic operations, coordination of organ offer events, exam room
allocations, operation support systems and donation initiatives. • Work
collaboratively with nursing leadership responsible for relevant inpatient
unit(s) to ensure continuity and a seamless transplant patient care service line
