The
Center for Children, Families, and Workforce Development
invites applications for a
Temporary Program
Coordinator II
to join their team. This position will be responsible for the functional supervision of part-time administrative assistants. Additionally, they will train and manage the work of research assistants who will be working on teams to complete projects. This position is grant funded.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Grant Coordination
- Assist principal investigators in grant coordination including stakeholder outreach and engagement, management of grant deliverables, and assistance with grant accounting and grant reporting. Lead efforts for ongoing monitoring and quality improvement.
Workforce Development -
Coordinate statewide training, including managing registrations, training materials, and continuing education units. Develop and disseminate training content.
Research/Evaluation
– Assist principal investigators in developing research and evaluation methods, collecting and aggregating research and evaluation data, analyzing data, developing reports and data visualization dashboards, and publishing them through the Center’s webpage.
Upon completion of training, the incumbent will have developed working skills, knowledge, and ability in:
Tableau data visualization software, Qualtrics, RedCap, SPSS, SAS, and similar research software
Research and evaluate methods, data collection, and analytical processes used in social science research
Manage grant deliverables, monitor for ongoing quality improvement, and contribute to grant reports and financial monitoring.
Experience in designing and developing research studies to evaluate programs and feed results back into services
Leadership in conducting advanced literature reviews that are relevant to the social problems experienced by Montana’s children and families
Identify, aggregate, and analyze data obtained from research studies and public sources
Learn and apply new software programs to continually improve the quality of the Center’s research reports and data dashboards for policymakers and key leaders statewide
Respond to new needs, manage multiple projects, and prioritize deadlines to ensure the development and delivery of high-quality products
Lead and co-lead in identifying, developing, and implementing new projects that respond to the needs of social service professionals
Required Skills
Understand the multiple systems and responsibilities of the systems that serve Montana’s children, youth, and families particularly those whose health is compromised by social determinants
Knowledge of software systems that are used to conduct social science research and program evaluation, and research methods commonly used to collect data and make recommendations about how the data can improve program services
Knowledge of project management tools and strategies to manage, organize, and track grant deliverables and to manage statewide training
Understand and effectively contribute to ongoing financial monitoring
Ability to assist research analysts and evaluators in developing research designs and data collection processes
Ability to conduct advanced literature reviews that are relevant to the needs of Montana’s children and families
Strong computer skills and knowledge of software programs to conduct research and evaluation and to manage statewide outreach
Ability to learn current and emerging software programs to conduct program evaluation and research
Ability to learn and utilize project management tools
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines as new requests arise, complete short-term projects, and visualize projects to continually address the state’s needs
Minimum Required Experience
High School diploma and two (2) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
One to two (1-2) years of experience managing projects and/or assisting in conducting research and evaluation. Experience using local and statewide data to design and improve programs.
Extensive knowledge of the systems that provide mental health, social, educational, and correctional services to Montana’s children, youth, and families.
