General Description of Position:
Support distance education proctoring exams for distance education students and make-up exams as needed for face-to-face students. Offer Corporate College Certification tests; administer Ivy Tech Placement exams and CAAP exams of academic achievement.
Major Responsibilities:
The following is a list of standard duties and requirements for Testing Services Testing Specialists (formerly known as proctors). While there may be regional requirements that add to this list this should be considered the basic recognized requirements for the Testing Specialist position.
• Ability to function in the CASS appointment system; make, approve and update appointments.

• Maintain test security and candidate confidentiality

• Deliver all tests according to vendors or internal procedures.

• Respond to customer queries.

• Provide limited software and hardware troubleshooting, and understand how to contact internal Tech Support when needed.

• Develop a thorough knowledge of testing center exams, materials, activities, policies and procedures.

• Provide accommodations as instructed.

• Promote and demonstrate a professional dress and demeanor at all times.

• Keep the testing environment clean and looking professional at all times.

• Proctor tests administered by using specified active monitoring techniques.

• Learn to use the technology utilized in the region.

• Provide high level customer service.

• Attendance at regional staff meetings and training are required.

• Attend statewide proctor training.

• Follow FERPA laws carefully.

• Become familiar with statewide and regional testing resources.

• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree is preferred in an appropriate discipline; work experience in fields related to education, community/economic development, counseling, or other appropriate fields; some familiarity with technical/instructional technologies.
