The Department of Economics is seeking an Economics & Management Administrative Officer to join their team. This is a brand-new role in a growing team, and presents an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop their career in academic administration at Oxford.
The Economics & Management Administrative Officer will undertake a broad range of duties to support the Department’s teaching activities. These encompass the coordination of activities related to the popular Economics & Management undergraduate course in the Department, a joint course with Said Business School, and include the administration of admissions and outreach, examinations, and the Exams assessors and payments system.
As well as taking responsibility for E&M administration in the department, you will provide ongoing support to the Undergraduate Manager and wider Academic Office team.
You will report to the Undergraduate Manager, and work closely with the Undergraduate team and wider academic office team to provide high quality support to students and key members of Faculty.
Applications are welcome from those who are educated to A-level or equivalent, have experience of organising and managing events and administrative processes, and the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, with proven experience of working successfully as part of a team in an office environment, and experience of providing excellent customer service to a wide range of people.
You will have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision, and organise your own workload to meet deadlines, as well as knowing when to refer issues to others.
Excellent attention to details, a methodical approach to work, and a willingness to resolve situations is essential. Good IT and numerical skills, including the ability to use databases, are also essential.
Some experience of working in Higher Education, with Oxford systems, and experience of admissions or examination administration would be desirable.
