This position is based out of our school in Albany, NY.u00A0This position is based out of our Langan School in Albany, NY.u00A0 Langan School provides educational services for K-12 students from 58 districts in the Capital District region and beyond, serving students who have multiple disabilities, autism, and traumatic brain injuries.u00A0 Our dedicated team works every day to make sure each student is receiving not only an education optimized for their unique needs, but also full childhood and school experience.u00A0 We have three ultimate goals for our graduates: independence, community inclusion and self-determination.u00A0 Responsibilities:Responsible for developing studentsu2019 Individualized Education PlansDevelop and implements lesson plans incorporating goals/objectives from all disciplines of each student's IEP.Implements and monitors behavior and classroom management plans/techniques when necessaryDevelops and adheres to an established daily schedule making daily modifications/adjustments as requiredMaintains communication with classroom team, parents and program directors regarding students' performanceDevelops lesson plans incorporating the IEP goals and objectives for each studentReinforces appropriate student behavior by utilizing progressive discipline techniquesEstablishes communicates and monitors clear expectations for both students and classroom staffRequirements:Minimum Qualifications:Initial NYS Certification in Special EducationBacheloru2019s degree in Special Education and currently pursuing Masters Degree in Special EducationMust be at least 18 years old.Must be able to lift 50 pounds independently.Preferred Qualifications:New York State permanent certification in Special EducationMasters Degree in Special EducationMinimum of two years of experience with students with multiple disabilities.u00A0Creative and energeticAt The Center for Disability Services, we donu2019t just accept difference u2013 we celebrate it, support it, and thrive on it for the benefit of our employees and the people we support.u00A0 We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any protected class of job applicant or employee in our employment practices.
