Provides management support to plan, organize and lead resources with assigned team members; as well as functioning as an individual contributor within the department. Participates in Environmental Services Strategic Initiatives and Priorities goals. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision, Pledge and Commitments of the MBO. SUPERVISOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Has the authority to interview, hire, orient, terminate, promote, train and conduct performance evaluations. • Assigns day-to-day work activities; directs the functional and technical job performance of team members. • Allocates and directs staffing needs to meet patient, unit/department and organizational needs and collaborates with others to ensure overall staffing needs are met. • Manages performance including: setting goals, clarifying job expectations, monitoring performance progress, providing feedback, recognizing performance, developing skills and addressing performance issues related to work and our Commitments using corrective action. FUNCTIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Ensures proper staffing is scheduled and /or available to perform daily activities in areas of responsibility. • Coordinates and oversee the daily and weekly activities/tasks are performed by staff in areas of responsibility. • Develops and posts employees schedules according to department policy. • Updates and communicates job-flow changes of positions in areas of responsibility. • Interacts with nursing on any issues, changes and or educational needs. • Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients and visitors. • Visits patients on floors and helps ensure that their service and experience are agreeable. • Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient’s rights policy as outlined in the facility’s HIPAA policies and procedures.','Experience A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Environmental Service Operations with at least 2 years of management experience is required. Education/Licensure High School Diploma – Required Associates Degree and/or Management Training Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Must possess strong knowledge of Environmental services, strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards.
