The Department of Communication and the Arts within the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks to hire a term faculty member to teach courses in the Visual/Sound Media major.  Specifically, we are seeking a professional to offer and develop additional, new advanced studio production courses in television and film production.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The anticipated teaching load for this position would be that of a term faculty member (i.e., 24 credit assigned teaching load per year) with an opportunity to cultivate external partnerships, the advancement of co-curricular programming related to the CSM, PSN, and production activities (e.g. Pirate TV and WSOU 89.5 FM). Candidate will also assist in the development of advanced studio and field production courses.

The candidate will also have the opportunity to lead co-curricular activities, including Pirate TV. The ideal candidate will also incorporate the Center for Sports Media (CSM) and Pirate Sports Network (PSN) in addition to promoting increased integration with our WSOU 89.5 FM, our University Radio Station. This position would also function as a liaison with any external stakeholders interested in leveraging the newly renovated 4K television studio facility.

*Production electives relevant to professional expertise

Launching in Fall 2023, the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media will bring together programs in education; human services; digital and visual media and design; the performing arts; arts and society; and communication.  The College is envisioned to deliver strong disciplinary preparation and explore new areas to prepare students to excel in the fields of education, human services, communication and the arts and more.   

Nested within the new College, the establishment of the School of Communication, Media, and the Arts, as well as the School of Education and Human Services, will provide foundations to enhance existing strengths and missions, while sharing resources and unifying the faculty across both areas in the exploration, development, and implementation of significant programmatic creation, modification, evaluation, and expansion. Organizationally, both Schools will complement the overarching College unit, and are poised to offer increased specification and tremendous opportunity.

Required Qualifications:
*Earned Master’s-level credential in an applicable field 
*Significant professional experience in studio television production. 
*Teaching experience at the University-level 
Desired Qualifications:
*Field Video Production, Show Running and/or Broadcast Journalism experience. 
*A Master of Fine Arts (MFA) or similar terminal degree.  
*MA/BA degrees with significant demonstrated professional experience (12 years)
