Our district has a rich history of providing quality education to the children of our community since 1984, and we have grown to include three campuses and a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses preschool through grade 12. Our ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker who can lead in the development and implementation of programs and services to meet the specific needs of our exceptional students.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight in the development and implementation of a comprehensive program for exceptional student services
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to identify students with exceptional needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
Ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations regarding the education of students with disabilities
Monitor the delivery of services to exceptional students and evaluate program effectiveness
Provide professional development and training to staff and teachers on strategies and techniques for teaching exceptional students
Act as a liaison between the district and community agencies that provide services to exceptional students
Manage the budget for exceptional student services and ensure that funds are used effectively and efficiently
Requirements
Master's degree in special education or related field
Minimum of five years of experience in special education, with at least three years in a leadership role
Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to the education of exceptional students
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Strong leadership and team building skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and community agencies
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
