Associate Director for Student Transitions and Family Programs
The Office of Student Transitions & Family Programs (STFP) is searching for a dynamic professional to join our team as the Associate Director for Student Transitions and Family Programs
! STFP develops and facilitates programs, initiatives, and services to support the transitional needs of new and current undergraduate students and their family members at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. The office designs programs to engage, challenge, develop, and support participants. STFP develops orientation and transitional programs for all incoming students that help prepare them for experiencing college life, as well as the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead academically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. The department also supports current students as they persist along their journey towards success and becoming proud Chanticleer alumni.

Duties include, but are not limited to: coordinate with the Director and oversee the development of the department's student staff leadership development program; supervise the Coordinator for Student Transitions and Family Programs who is responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of student staff; responsible for the planning, promotion, implementation, and assessment of all orientation programs (i.e. freshmen, transfer, special populations, parent/family, and online); responsible for the development and management of the logistical scaffolding necessary to successfully support orientation programming including existing and emerging technologies (i.e. websites, modules, portals, apps, social media, etc.); coordinate the development, revision, and distribution of marketing, educational, and informational publications and materials related to orientation programming; support the development of and participate in all family programs facilitated by the department including Family Weekend; maintain communication with campus partners regarding supporting student leadership development and orientation programming; manage orientation program budgets; engage in on-going professional development to stay in touch with and incorporate best practices from the orientation, transition, and retention functional area and the broader field of student affairs in higher education; and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience is required. A valid driver's license is required. A master's degree in in Higher/Adult Education, College Student Personnel, Student Development, Organizational/Educational Leadership or an equivalent degree program is preferred. Three (3) years of full-time professional experience working in higher education administrative work involving admissions, orientation programs, leadership development, student activities, student life, or related field is preferred. Direct experience with orientation and/or transition programming for undergraduate students, and a general understanding of student development, leadership development and student transition issues are also preferred.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61121831/FTE-S00569P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university. Position may require some evenings and weekends.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; one (1) year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher/Adult Education, College Student Personnel, Student Development, Organizational/Educational Leadership or an equivalent degree program.
Three (3) years of full-time professional experience working in higher education administrative work involving admissions, orientation programs, leadership development, student activities, student life, or related field.
Direct experience with orientation and/or transition programming for undergraduate students
General understanding of student development, leadership development and student transition issues
Required Licensure and/or Certification

Valid Driver's license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills (oral and written)
Demonstrated commitment and successful experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
Previous experience supervising undergraduate/graduate students
Awareness and understanding of the transitional needs of new students and their families is essential.
Ability to work independently, to prioritize concurrent or conflicting deadlines, analyze and make decisions related to program content.
Demonstrated skills in designing publications and promotional information.
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Proficiency using various social media platforms
Proficiency with technology including maintaining websites and other multi-media platforms
Ability to maintain high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
