Care Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator, 4IC Intermediate Cardiac','Part-time','Clinical Support','7pm','7pm','0','0','Occasional','Occasional','KENTUCKY-LEXINGTON-SAINT JOSEPH HOSPITAL','','!*!Position Summary: Provides patient care under the supervision of licensed
staff, Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, Unit Manager or Director of
Nursing. Organizes and promotes
efficient workflow within the unit. Acts
as a communication liaison by greeting all internal and external customers to
proactively meet service requests and to promote positive customer relations.
Requirements: High school diploma
or GED required. Requires
certification from an approved nursing assistant course, previous experience as
a nurse assistant, or one completed semester of healthcare related clinical
experience. Prefer one year of
secretarial experience and previous exposure to medical terminology. Be proficient in keyboarding and posses good
Windows platform computer skills. Maintains
designated hospital competencies validated by the Competency Based Orientation
(CBO) plan. Demonstrates a strong belief
and behaviors consistent with the Saint Joseph HealthCare Mission and Core
Values (Reverence, Integrity, Compassion and Excellence).
','!*!Adequate conversational English is
required in order that the individual be able to take direction from
management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with
patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines,
and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
Working Relationships: Reports to the
manager and is responsible to the LPN or RN for delegated assignments. Daily contact is with co-workers, managers,
social services, medical staff, students, clergy, patients, families, visitors,
volunteers and the general public. May
have contact with members of the Health Care Delivery team such as students,
medical staff, physical therapy, respiratory, etc. as well as medical
representatives, interns, externs, insurance agents, representatives of
licensing/regulatory boards and physician offices.
