The Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy within the emerging College of Human Development, Culture, and Media at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This core faculty is expected to mentor doctoral students in the Counseling Psychology PhD Program, teach and develop curriculum across the programs in counseling psychology, counseling and school counseling, as well as in the various programs across the college in communication and education that emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion and promote culturally competent individuals.
Within the Department of Professional Psychology and Family Therapy, all programs have a strong commitment to preparing competent, socially conscious, reflective professionals. This includes training counseling psychologists who are scientist-practitioners, as well as counselors, school counselors, and school psychologists, who are multiculturally competent, committed to advancing social justice, and who are prepared to meet the challenges of working in complex urban settings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include research mentorship of doctoral students in the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology PhD Program, teaching courses in the Counseling Psychology PhD Program, the counseling/school counseling programs, especially online, and teaching and collaborating in the development of DEI-related curriculum across the college; conducting research; and contributing to program development and coordination.
Additional duties will include university, college, and department committee work, clinical supervision of students, and assessment activities in support of APA and other accreditations. Further, we seek an individual who works collaboratively, collegially, and respectfully to promote the mission of the department, college, and university.

Launching in Summer 2023, Seton Hall’s emerging College of Human Development, Culture, and Media (CHDCM) will be the singular place for purpose-built interdisciplinary learning focused on innovation along the continuum of human development.
Integrating the exceptional faculty of Communication and the Arts and Education and Human Services, along with dynamic cross-disciplinary curricula, the new College will seek to improve the human condition by collaborating across distinct fields that uniquely complement one another and prepare students as dynamic leaders poised to address complex issues. Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology and eligibility for psychology licensure in the State of New Jersey. Candidates should have the potential to develop a successful publication record appropriate for an R2 institution. Successful candidates are expected to teach online and on-campus, depending on departmental and program needs, and contribute to the department and college as a whole. Consistent with program philosophy and the commitment of the college and university, the successful candidate must be committed to infusing multicultural content and social justice principles across all course work.
Desired Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with background/expertise in vocational psychology, particularly in meaningfully integrating DEI into teaching vocational psychology. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have some knowledge of/experience in school counseling.
