Description:
Do you have experience of supporting colleagues who teach international students? Can you help them to optimise frontline practice and curriculum design? Academic Development are looking to recruit a part-time Educational Developer (International). The role is in line with our strategic ambition of increasing international student numbers and providing high-quality, research led education and professional teaching. You will be part of a team that ensures teaching staff feel prepared to lead culturally diverse classrooms and support international students to achieve their potential as they make the transition to university study in the UK. You will work in the Educational Development (ED) team, where you will develop new staff CPD opportunities around international teaching and learning. In doing so, you will need to take an evidence-informed approach and stay alert to evolving good practice within the sector and internationally. In addition, you will contribute to ED’s wider provision for staff with contractual obligations to gain teaching qualification(s)/ recognition. The team delivers Masters-level modules on Higher Education teaching and runs an accredited scheme for participants to gain fellowships with Advance HE. The role may offer opportunities to engage in institutional research and evaluation of teaching and learning initiatives in line with our University 2023 and Education and Student Experience strategy. Based predominantly at the University's city centre campus, occasional travel across the South West may be required, to support staff located at satellite sites.
