The Experimental High Energy Physics (HEP) group in the Department of Physics at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. seeks candidates for a post-doctoral fellow position associated with the LHCb experiment. The individual hired will develop and use data-intensive analysis tools in association with DIANA-HEP (diana-hep.org). The focus of this work is developing GPU-friendly, thread-parallel algorithms that can be used to do amplitude analyses in experimental high energy physics and closely allied fields, with high-statistics LHCb charm and B-physics analyses as specific use cases. The candidate may additionally work on Real Time Analysis projects. The position will be based either at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland or in Cincinnati, OH.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in experimental HEP or a closely related field. The ideal candidate would have (i) extensive experience building production-quality, sustainable, software written in C++ and/or CUDA (ii) extensive experience analyzing high energy physics data, (iii) the ability to communicate effectively.
