invites applications for a
Director of Student Success
. The Director will coordinate student success services for the College of Humanities and Sciences including advising, recruitment, retention, and scholarship management. This position will collaborate with the Director of Career Success to promote internships, experiential learning, and career development. H&S is home to 20 units with approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and 500 graduate students.
The Director oversees the H&S Advising Center, with nine (9) professional academic advisors, supervising all of the advising staff within the Center. The Director represents the Dean’s office in matters of undergraduate and graduate affairs, representing the College on University committees as needed. The Director is responsible for developing advising materials, recruitment & retention materials, policies and initiatives for the College as needed and is responsible for developing and implementing undergraduate advising protocols for the College. The Director is responsible for independently solving existing and prospective student advising questions and problems. The Director serves as the Dean’s designee for reviewing a variety of registration and graduation processes including graduation appeals, academic reinstatement, late drop/add/change requests, and retroactive withdrawals. The Director works collaboratively with the Humanities & Sciences Director of Career Success. The position oversees the administration of all College of Humanities and Sciences scholarships. The position requires the ability to independently problem solve a variety of complex issues.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of related experience including an advising background.
A strong understanding of higher education.
A strong understanding of the College of Humanities and Sciences.
Experience with advising software; direct experience at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and crisis management skills, positive attitude, ability to work independently or as part of a team, to remain calm and professional in all situations, and to work independently, efficiently, and accurately in stressful situations with frequent interruptions.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to write and present information and reports.
Advanced knowledge of office management techniques, administrative practices and procedures, business terminology, and Business English.
Knowledge in the use of computer software programs for word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets, (MS Excel), computerized calendars and e-mail (MS Outlook).
Advanced knowledge of standard office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, scanners, printers, and multiline phones.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree, substantial professional experience, or both
Knowledge of University-level advising policies and procedures.
Knowledge of University-level scholarship procedures.

Knowledge of University advising and scholarship software such as Banner, InfoGriz, Cyberbear, Degree Works, Docusign, and Navigate.

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, MUS Contract and includes a comprehensive and competitive benefits package
