Description:
The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of Plymouth is looking for experienced Registered Nurses wishing to develop their career in an education setting - with proven ability in teaching, mentoring and coaching learners in clinical practice or in the clinical simulation setting. You would be working with our team of academic staff and a variety of practice staff throughout the academic year in providing a high-quality student experience in a clinical simulation activity to support their clinical development. The Pre-registration curriculum designed to meet the Standards of Proficiency for Registered Nurses brings both opportunities and challenges for the Nursing profession, and additional programmes, inclusive of Foundation Degree and post-registration level, provide wider opportunities to support the development of clinical skills. It is critical for the School to provide high quality education in supporting placement learning through developing the appropriate skills set in our students to become excellent future nurses. You should possess appropriate professional qualifications, registration on Sub Part 1 of the NMC register and ideally have experience of teaching. You will have 212 and 231 annualised hours which will run from October to June to deliver clinical simulation sessions as required. This equates to approximately 30 teaching days, or 2 days on weeks that skills are running, with the opportunity to work additional hours through the Staff Bank. These positions would easily fit around another part-time job. These positions will be based in the Exeter School of Nursing, WESC Foundation, Topsham Road, Exeter. These vacancies will involve working with children and/or vulnerable adults and any appointment will be subject to receipt of clearance for the Protection of Children from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
