JOB OVERVIEW

College-Conservatory of Music, a comprehensive college for the performing and media arts, seeks an experienced teacher and performing artist for a tenure-track open-rank faculty appointment in clarinet, to begin August 15, 2022. Rank and salary will be commensurate with credentials. Initial appointment is three years and faculty member is then eligible for reappointment. CCM's Woodwind/Brass/Percussion Department is a highly collaborative, multidimensional area of the Performance Studies Division offering the BM, MM, AD and DMA degree programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clarinet Teacher-in-Residence. Primary responsibilities will include: teaching clarinet students on all collegiate levels (BM, MM, AD and DMA), recruiting and maintaining a high-quality studio, and teaching studio-related classes as needed. Additional duties and responsibilities will include: advising doctoral students on documents, projects and lecture recitals; coaching chamber ensembles; teaching master classes; engaging in significant professional activities by maintaining regional, national and international visibility through solo, chamber, and/or orchestral performances and by teaching masterclasses; and serving the college/university/community through such activities as committee membership, academic advising and mentoring students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Prior to the effective date of the appointment, a Masters of Music degree in Clarinet and a total of three years of experience. Such experience must encompass three years of professional performance experience as well as three academic years of university level teaching experience, which can, but need not, be contemporaneous to the professional performance experience.
