Description:
The Faculty of Health successfully bid to implement the Time for Dementia programme in collaboration with the Alzheimer's Society and Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in 2021. The programme, which has now been running for two years, sees Undergraduate Medical Students and Mental Health Nursing students meet and spend time with people with Dementia and their carers over a two-year period, which enables them to gain a much deeper understanding of Dementia, its progression and impact. The programme is expected to last a minimum of three years. This is an exciting time for an enthusiastic and dedicated administrator to join the School of Nursing and Midwifery’s Professional Services team to work on the Time for Dementia programme. The School of Nursing and Midwifery administrative team is responsible for supplying a customer focused, comprehensive and efficient programme and practice support services. You will handle co-ordinating student visits to families affected by Dementia. You will be expected to work closely with the Programme Administration Team and the Time for Dementia Administrator based within the School of Medicine and Dentistry’s Clinical Liaison team to organise these visits and arrange the student groups / pairings, as well as liaise with Alzheimer's Society about participant families. You will be the main point of contact for both students and participant families involved in the programme, confirming visit details, and responding to any enquiries. You will arrange and support relevant meetings for the Time for Dementia programme, as well as organise events such as preparatory sessions. You will need to have effective communication skills, provide good customer service and the ability to deal with a large number of people from wide-ranging backgrounds. You will also need experience of office administration, a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, and the ability to deal with confidential / sensitive data. Requirements for the role are set out in the job description. The post will be located in Rolle Building situated on the University’s main campus within the city centre. However, the role may require travel to our North Campus site. Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement. We offer a competitive salary package and a generous pension and holiday scheme. We also offer a range of other benefits, including ongoing development opportunities. The Faculty of Health holds a Silver Athena Swan Award and the University holds a Bronze Athena SWAN Award which recognises commitment to advancing women’s careers in STEMM academia.
