If so, you may be an ideal candidate to join our dynamic team, which is building an entrepreneurial, fast-growing multimedia journalism program.
The Journalism Program at Brandeis University seeks a full-time Professor of the Practice of Journalism to begin in Fall 2024. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Research and media format specialization is open, and preference will be given to candidates whose interests and experience complement and expand those of existing faculty.
The successful candidate will be equipped to teach core undergraduate courses, such as Journalism 101, while also developing and leading new courses that emphasize deep critical thinking and cutting-edge practical application. The successful candidate must be a first-rate, creative collaborator who is committed to mentoring students and helping to bring intellectual vitality to campus. The successful candidate will receive an initial three-year contract, which is renewable, and a competitive salary and benefits package. Letters of recommendation will be solicited once a short list of candidates is compiled. At that time, the search committee will also seek teaching evaluations (if applicable) and a longer draft syllabus of a new course you would develop. Zoom interviews will be held initially, followed by campus visits and sample classes for finalists.
