Position Summary:
Perform custodial services in and around campus buildings and facilities following established procedures. Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Custodial Duties
Sweeps/scrubs/waxes/ polishes concrete, vinyl, tile and wood floors
Vacuums rugs/ carpets in offices/ rooms
Cleans/dusts walls, chalkboards, furniture, woodwork and other equipment
Picks up paper and other refuse on grounds
Sweeps walks and entrances
Washes/ scrubs/disinfects/supplies restrooms
Empties/cleans waste containers
Cleans windows, door glass and drinking fountains
Cleans/polishes metal work such as door panels and hand railings
Replaces light bulbs and maintains equipment used in course of work
Other Department Responsibilities
Moves/rearranges chairs, tables, desks, furniture and other equipment
Operates college owned vehicles and equipment
Completes cleaning and routine maintenance of buildings and grounds as required
Safety & Security Reporting
Reports safety/sanitary/fire hazards to supervisor
Assists in maintaining security of buildings and college equipment
Other Functions
May clean up blood and body fluid spills as needed using prescribed hazardous spill procedures and guidelines
Performs all other job related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow instructions in English
Core Competencies
Knowledge of basic sanitation principles and equipment; chemicals and their usage.
Skill in sanitizing and cleaning;
Skill in maintaining a safe and healthy working environment;
Skill in using buffers, vacuums and other custodial equipment;
Skill in mopping and waxing floors;
Skill in communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
Preferred Qualifications
One year full time paid custodial experience
Bilingual, English/Spanish

Terms of Employment:
This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment of the A2 band and grade
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends
Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
Upon hire, must pass security inquiry which may include criminal history; only information relevant to the position will be considered
Employees must maintain Oregon or Washington residency as a condition of employment.
Upon hire must successfully complete a physical agility test
