Based in the Faculty of Health, the School of Psychology is one of the largest and best-resourced psychology departments in the UK. The Pain Modulation Lab at the Brain Research and Imaging Centre (BRIC) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher interested in pain neuroimaging and immersive virtual reality. You will perform studies of experimental pain states alongside immersive virtual reality and will involve using multiple experimental techniques: functional MRI, psychophysics and neurophysiology. Duties will include recruitment, data collection, processing, analysis and writing of research reports. You will have the opportunity to champion individual experiments from inception through to publication. This role is based in the School of Psychology at the University of Plymouth and supervised by Dr Sam Hughes and is in collaboration with Dr Matthew Howard at Kings College London. Key requirements: PhD (or be studying towards it) in pain neuroimaging or a relevant subject area. Experience in neurophysiology and psychophysics is also desirable.
