General Description of Position:
Provides overall supervision for ASAP which provides the structure for students to achieve an associate degree in eleven months. The campus director is responsible for recruiting students into the program, supporting students during the program, and assisting students as they leave the program in transferring to a four-year institution. The ASAP campus director provides leadership and supervision for the development and coordination of the ASAP academic program and enrichment activities to complement course instruction. He/she is tasked with providing a structure that considers the general welfare of students, promotes the personal growth and development of students, and complements and supplements experiences in the learning community.
Major Responsibilities:
This position may encompass any or all of the following:
Program Leadership/Oversight
In collaboration and cooperation with the ASAP Statewide Director, develops campus goals and objectives related to the ASAP that are in line with statewide initiatives and provides leadership in the implementation of these goals and objectives.
Participates in efforts supporting ASAP’s role in increasing retention and completion metrics as identified in the college’s strategic plan.
Works closely with the K-14 Initiatives Directors, Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs, ASAP Program Chairs and Foundation Executive Director to develop an annual budget.
Monitors and manages the budget, including student stipend/fellowship processing, enrichment funds, adjunct funds, etc.
Helps the Ivy Tech Foundation secure external funds by assisting in the grant writing process.
Collects/maintains student demographics, course eligibility information and performance indicators, i.e., EFC, loans, Financial Aid, stipends/fellowships, gender, grit scale score, high school transcription information, attendance, grade tracking, etc.
Supervises other exempt staff.
Orders and maintains purchase requisitions of learning community materials and supplies.
Academic Affairs
Works closely with academic lead to design program degree curriculum that is highly transferrable to four-year institutions in surrounding community.
Works closely with program chairs/deans to hire/appoint ASAP instructors.
Coordinates block scheduling cohorts for ASAP.
Coordinates the design and implementation of the enhanced cohort orientation experience.
Meets regularly with instructors for implementation of integrative course work, assessment of student progress and identification of needed interventions.
Works with faculty teams to develop, communicate and assess individual intervention plans with ASAP students, as needed.
Coordinates the welcome, end-of-year and term celebrations.
Designs and coordinates enrichment activities scheduled during the “flex” day of each week
Meets with each student at least once each 8-week term for individual mentoring and academic planning.
Completes graduation audits for students.
Works with other faculty and staff members to promote the value of diversity among students.
Represents ASAP by attending campus leadership meetings.
Assists in providing administrative support in all areas of the college environment as related to academic affairs.
Student Recruitment and Enrollment
Designs, organizes, and executes ASAP candidate recruitment strategy.
Assists local marketing and communication department in the creation of program recruitment documents, i.e., application, promotional materials, mail merges, etc.
Collaborates and coordinates recruitment efforts with campus admission team.
Collaborates with area high school guidance counselors in the student identification and selection process providing support with the assessment and financial aid components.
Organizes and executes candidate interviews, as needed.
Represents ASAP by attending enrollment services campus leadership meetings.
Student Success Mentor
Serves as the student support professional for all ASAP
Using a holistic approach and an intrusive mentoring style, supports students through academic, social, and personal challenges to successful program completion.
Assists in helping to resolve life circumstances that inhibit student academic commitment.
Works with additional college personnel to assist ASAP students with resources to promote their success and program completion, i.e., financial aid, registrar, academic support services, tutoring, library, student life, etc.,
Provides leadership for student counseling, career counseling, transfer pathways, assessment, and testing.
Develops and maintains relationships with 4-year transfer institutions and coordinates college visits.
Coordinates ordering and distribution of textbooks and learning materials, as needed.
Represents ASAP by attending student success campus leadership meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, student personnel, management, or related field
required.
Three- or five-years’ experience in educational programing serving diverse student populations
(Preferable secondary and/or postsecondary public institution).
Experience in teaching or counseling or advising or case management or Individual Academic Plan development.
Must demonstrate excellent communication and team building skills, the ability to be decisive, and provide leadership in a community college setting.
Must have the ability to work well with persons from various social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
Knowledge of computer applications and familiarity with computerized records systems required.
Passion for seeing students succeed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s or doctorate degree in education, counseling, student personnel, management, or a related field preferred.
