Description: To assist the Operations Supervisor, Manager in the UT Conference Center kitchen as an assistant. Position will supervise others and lead in the kitchen daily. Responsible for administrative oversight such as ordering and inventory control of products on hand for daily meals. Provide monthly analysis in sales production, food purchasing. Work with outside food vendors on ordering and procuring food products. Assist in managing the kitchen staff and students during culinary programs offered by UT Conferences and Non-Credit Programs.
','!*!Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Cook and leads Conference Center food production events and part-time kitchen staff.
Serves as an expert resource, provides guidance and oversees the daily meal preparations in the UT Conference Center kitchen.
Develops and monitors operations, maintenance and cleaning procedures and policies in the UT Conference Center kitchen to maintain passable health and food inspections.
Assist Executive Chef in daily meal preparations for guest of the UT Conference Center.
Oversees and manages weekly staffing needs for the production of the kitchen during the week
Create and build daily pre-preparation prep lists for the kitchen team. Reviews and evaluates special dietary request and menus for pre-preparations. Provides menu recommendations to Executive Chef.
Manages weekly ordering of food products and materials needed for meals and culinary offerings in the UT Conference Center. Works with vendors to target best pricing of products
Manages and maintains food inventory and supplies need to operate a full-service commercial kitchen
Qualifications/Requirements:
High School diploma; 3 years of commercial kitchen experience, Preferred 2 year’s experience with culinary education program
Knowledge/ Skill requirements: Understanding of recipe analysis, understanding of commercial equipment usage
Competent in classic French cooking, Serv Safe certification
