ABOUT THE JOB
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is searching for an Associate Director for Diversity Recruitment & Outreach. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, Recruitment & Outreach, this position will set the strategic direction and vision for diversity recruitment at UC.
This role will serve as the primary leader regarding all facets of recruitment in support of UC's Strategic Sizing enrollment goals for undergraduate students. The Associate Director will directly supervise two (2) program managers and two (2) graduate assistants as well as indirectly supervise thirty to thirty-five (30-35) student workers. This position operates as a key liaison with all academic and administrative offices assisting in the recruitment of students with a strategic focus on diversity in the broadest sense (racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, geographic, first-gen, socioeconomic, rural, etc.). Collaborating with other departmental leadership, the Associate Director will provide strategic leadership and goal setting for programing/initiatives that impact diversity recruitment and enrollment.
The ideal candidate will implement market-driven strategies among the admissions recruitment staff developing a strategy and vision around community-based organizations and access programs. This strategy will be focused on creating partnerships that not only impact students and their local communities but also create enrollment pathways to the University. This individual will incorporate data-driven decision-making and personalized recruitment efforts, which include communication strategies, events, campus, and community partnerships, and building and maintaining successful relationships with high school counselors.
JOB OVERVIEW
Provide leadership for the administration of student recruitment or retention program within admissions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Assist with the direction of an admissions office or center with primary responsibilities for day to day operations and administrative management in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on internal and external relations. *Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, departmental and university goals for areas of responsibility, monitors and achieves established goals. *Recommend, implement, and interpret internal rules, policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels; develop and implement responsive service programs. *Attend meetings on behalf of the Director; consults with Director on major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions; may function as the Director in his/her absence, as required. *Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets; authority for function budget, revenue, and expense planning and approving expenditure; delegated signature authority for programs or functions within department or center. *Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. *Compile data required for internal and external reports and assessments; interpret and disseminate information, provide advice, assist in development of advising materials, deliver presentations, ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations. *Maintain collaborative relationships with departments/units regarding efforts that enrich the student experience. *Maintain and stay abreast of trends in student recruitment and retentions and academic programs requirements. *Serve on various university, division and departmental committees, represent the department at various state and national associations. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Five (5) years of experience in admissions, diversity recruitment, diversity programming, college-access and/or community-base-organizations. *Previous supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Master's Degree. *Experience with Slate or other CRM software. *Transferrable experience in strategy development and implementation, developing and managing partnerships, and/or event planning *Experience in supervision (including professional or paraprofessional staff)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
