Who You Are
FRCC is looking for someone to join a forward thinking, equity minded, hard-working, and dynamic team! The Pathways Advisor position supports student success, which is the number one priority of FRCC, by building relationships with students, faculty, and staff to help our students reach and complete their goals. The Pathways Advisor provides academic advising and coaching to a caseload of students by proactively reaching out to students, and providing holistic, timely advising within specific Career and Academic Communities (CACs). Pathways Advisors establish partnerships with faculty within their CAC to enhance the student experience. They embrace case-management as a start to finish process that connects students to their purpose and plan on a continual basis. This position requires some travel between the three campuses for team and department meetings, and reports to the Pathways Advising and Career Center at the Larimer Campus. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to serve a diverse group of students and has a desire to make a positive impact on student lives.

This is an on-campus position with an opportunity for remote work. You need to be a Colorado resident on your first day of employment.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Preliminary screening will be made on the basis of completed application package submitted by candidate. Primary Duties
Provides proactive Academic Advising to students within assigned Career and Academic Communities (CAC). Proactively reaches out to students and meets with students to provide holistic & timely advising, leveraging all available tools to report, monitor, track, document student notes, and communicate with students. Meets with students in person, by phone, and videoconference.
Continually monitors evolving educational and career needs of assigned caseload of students.
Assists students in building and navigating their academic plans through graduation, providing transfer information, and making campus and community referrals as needed.
Identifies key risk and success factors that may indicate a need for extra support such as GPA, suspension, probation, Early Alert, First Generation.
Engages in basic career planning conversations with students, including helping students match their career interests to courses/programs of study, making referrals to Career Services as needed.
Develops effective working relationships with FRCC faculty, staff and transfer liaisons at common transfer institutions for FRCC students. Collaborates with CAC faculty liaisons within academic departments.
Attends CAC related department meetings, and other events and activities that promote and build CAC communities.
Connects with transfer institutions for assigned CACs, remaining updated on degree information within assigned CAC.
Serves on department, campus, and college-wide committees as assigned.
Maintains knowledge of the curricula for FRCC degrees, certificates, courses and issues relevant to transferring to Colorado four-year institutions. Maintains current knowledge of FRCC policies and procedures for admissions, enrollment, and completing a program of study. Develops and keeps up-to-date resources that enhance the student experience.

Qualifications
Required Education/Training & Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree
AND
Experience engaging students, clients and/or customers in a helping role.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Experience working effectively on a team.
Experience working with a diverse population.
Proficiency learning and utilizing technology such as Microsoft Suite, Banner, and EAB Navigate.
