This position will report jointly to the Director of International Programs and the Office of English as a Second Language, and acts as a liaison for international students between university offices, student organizations and community organizations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS: *Identify, interpret, and apply relevant law, government, and institutional policy within the scope of advising international students and visiting scholars as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 visa holders and an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for J-1 visa holders. *Functional responsibilities may include communication and student support; Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance; student engagement and professional development; data management; and report generation. *Cultivate relationships and advise international students on complex issues related to immigration regulations: maintaining lawful status; eligibility for part-time enrollment; Issuance of initial and edited versions of Form I-20 (Certificate of F-1 Eligibility) and Form DS-2019; program extensions; practical training; campus employment; and other F-1/J-1 benefits and regulations as allowed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations. *Issue new Form I-20s for authorization and prepare relevant documentation and applications. *Develop and maintain partnerships on and off-campus to advocate for the international student community. *Support orientation, cultural adjustment, co-curricular engagement, advocacy, and professional development programs that impact and involve international students. *This position may also assume additional administrative responsibilities as assigned, in a multifunction office supporting both study abroad and international student outreach and support.

ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE: *Recruit ESL students and publicize the program. *Keep office hours and respond to student, staff, and community questions and requests. *Work with Program Director to ensure program curriculum is relevant and reflects the latest developments in the field of ESL. *Supports and monitors ESL student persistence and completion. *Collaborates with faculty and chairs to monitor student progress toward goals and ensure/provide appropriate academic advising/support/resources. *Provide proactive advising to a cohort of students enrolled in ESL classes as needed or assigned and/or serve as a liaison and resource to students and faculty of ESL courses or sections.
Required Qualifications:
• Strong administrative work experience coordinating and collaborating on projects
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong research and data analysis skills, including advanced level in Excel
• Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
• Strong skills of self-discipline, self-management, and ability to work independently
• Ability to professionally interact with students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, to include stellar listening abilities and superior written and verbal communication are required for success in this position.
Desired Qualifications:
• Two to three years of job-related experience.
• Experience in a university environment advising international students on F-1 and J-1 visas.
• Experience using Banner and Terra Dotta.
• Master's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
