Purpose of Position
The Professor of Practice and Director of Budget and Operations
Primary Responsibilities Teach two sections of honors courses per semester with special attention to courses offered in the first-year experience program
Manage Budget and Budget Proposals for the Honors College
Submit Procurement Orders and Work Orders Generated by College
Reconcile Monthly Purchase Card Expenses and Generate Monthly Spending Reports
Oversee Hiring and Supervision of Student Workers (roughly 4 workers per semester)
Coordinate with Coordinator of Honors Living Learning Community and Office of Campus Housing for Budget and Programming of Honors Residential Experience
Attend Weekly Honors Faculty and Staff Meetings
Serve on Honors Advisory Council (meets every semester)
Represent Honors College at University Meetings Regarding Budget and Strategic Budget Planning
Work with Associate Provost for Administration to Create PAR Requests for Honors College Faculty Staffing
Work with Units, Colleges, Departments, and Programs from Across Campus to Coordinate Budgetary Programming for Co-Sponsored Events
Qualifications Terminal degree in area of teaching and research
3 years teaching experience required with preference for some experience teaching honors students
Experience working with faculty and students from across campus, particularly across colleges and divisions of a university preferred
Experience working with honors students and/or honors programs and colleges
Experience or familiarity with regional or national honors organizations preferred
Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
