Assumption University is a private, Catholic university which offers its 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students a Catholic liberal education. The University is located in Worcester, Massachusetts, New England's second largest city that combines the warmth of a small town with the convenience of a thriving city.
Job Description:
BASIC PURPOSE: Working with Integrated Marketing team, this role will perform a variety of marketing duties, encompassing social and digital media creation, and website content review to help elevate the University's brand, while ensuring its narrative and mission are delivered consistently to both internal and external audiences. Working closely with the University's Marketing Content Creator, this position will contribute to the social media communications calendar and implement the content strategies for the Grenon School of Business, the D'Amour College of the Liberal Arts & Sciences, and the School of Graduate Studies.
STATUS: This is a 20 hour per week, 40 week/year position from August 2022 - May 2023. Compensation includes free tuition in an Assumption University graduate program. Tuition includes 3 courses in the fall and 3 in the spring (fees not included) until graduate degree completed or employment ends, whichever occurs first. If you return to your position for the 2023 - 2024 academic year, you are entitled to two additional summer courses in the summer of 2023.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Working in collaboration with the Integrated Marketing team, academic, and administrative departments, the Graduate Assistant (GA) will produce and optimize a broad range of content on an ongoing basis to support the strategic goals of named schools, increase brand advocacy, and engage target audiences. Internal and external marketing content creation includes social and digital media, the University's website, event marketing, print materials, and video board displays. This position will provide support with information gathering and fact-checking for production of University publications, including bulletins, catalogs, and other printed material. Essential to this role is an in-depth understanding of how to align marketing content and SEO strategy with the University's mission, coupled with the ability to facilitate the delivery of compelling messages to prospective students, parents, and influencers including guidance counselors and University advocates.
1. Produce compelling written and visual marketing content that is aligned with the communications plan and brand standards for the University;
2. Contribute to social media content strategies for Grenon School of Business, the D'Amour College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and the School of Graduate Studies
3. Articulate mission, value, and outcomes through all marketing and communication strategies, including traditional and digital marketing channels to a variety of constituencies;
4. Collaborate with colleagues to generate content for marketing projects including social media campaigns, visual design, event-based projects, video, and photography for internal and external communications;
5. Identify opportunities to repurpose and repackage content in order to amplify the University's message, brand awareness, and community engagement;
6. Promote and cover special events, ceremonies, enrollment and advancement functions, and other cultivation activities by creating and distributing social media and web content;
7. Provide awareness and insight on emerging trends;
8. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Must be a current graduate student at Assumption University in good academic standing;
2. 1-2 years of experience writing and developing marketing content and a strong understanding of social media technology and best practices.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
4. Strong conceptual skills with ability to write clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy;
5. Understanding of the creative process and technologies, along with the ability to partner with and/or manage internal and external creative resources;
6. Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across divisions;
7. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
8. Ability to analyze and optimize efforts on an ongoing basis;
9. Results-oriented with a deep sense of accountability and the ability to drive large projects with urgency from start to finish, while achieving the intended impact;
10. Ability to work both autonomously and in a team;
11. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite;
12. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment;
13. COVID-19 vaccination and booster required.
PREFERRED:
1. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Drupal CMS
2. Experience video and photography capture
3. Strong understanding of SEO best practices

SCOPE: Interacts on a regular basis with administration, staff, faculty, students, and various individuals and organizations outside the University community.
