Job Description:
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Working in the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center, under the supervision of the Director of the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center, the IMS produces and edits audio-visual productions and instructional media projects and trains others in the use of audio-visual equipment to facilitate the use of instructional technology within the curriculum. This position is responsible for developing audio-visual/multimedia productions for instructional and other purposes; providing training on the use of audio-visual/multimedia equipment; operating/troubleshooting audio-visual/ multimedia equipment, project management and researching new technologies. Coordinates and supports technology for teaching and learning activities, assists with classroom and event audiovisual support and performs other duties as assigned.
THE TEACHING AND LEARNING INNOVATION CENTER:
**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s Teaching and Learning Innovation Center is a resource for faculty and staff to create effective learning experiences with technology throughout the GCC community. The leaders and staff in the TLIC provide design consultations, planning support, and training for those who are using technology in both physical places and online spaces. In addition, they provide audio visual and media services for educational and community events held on campus. Further, the TLIC collaborates with other IT departments to configure and manage Moodle and collaborates with faculty to improve the functionality of the platform. Through the work of the TLIC, GCC explores emerging education and instructional technologies and develops policy and procedure to support all of the college's educational functions.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Plans the development of instructional media by matching needs to capabilities in consultation with instructional program developers to meet instructional objectives
Plans and directs production of audio & video programming for marketing and academic purposes and performs post production editing
Oversees multimedia development and production activities
Monitors and or operates recording and streaming presentations as well as audio/video distribution systems
Monitors and troubleshoots the Teaching and Learning Innovation Center's teaching lab spaces
Assists in developing and planning equipment and services budget
Assists with compilation of department goals and objectives
Designs, produces and evaluates media in conjunction with faculty, staff, students, administrators and the community
Operates various multimedia equipment, computer programs, and related equipment
Maintains security of systems and oversees equipment supply and inventory
Coordinates purchase of new equipment, specifies and prepares bids for new systems, software and services
Maintains content for archiving and display purposes
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or at least two (2) years' experience in development and production of audio-visual/multimedia programming that includes media production, telecommunications, media education, and multimedia equipment operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Demonstrated competency with multimedia production, familiarity with MS Windows operation and maintenance, Mac OS operation and maintenance and industry standard audio/video production software and file formats.
Ability to produce instructional video graphics, photography, and audio products and other multimedia and web materials.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND APTITUDES:
Proficient with Google and MS Office applications
Ability to produce various media materials
Experience training and instructing individuals and groups on the use of AV, computer and video equipment
Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
Ability to operate various hand tools and to lift up to 40 lbs.

RANK AND SALARY
: Grade 18; $1,999.39 per bi-weekly pay period $51,984.14 per year. (Candidates may qualify for placement beyond entry-level salary if they are currently employed in the state system and transfer without a break in service, subject to verification by the Director of Human Resources.)
