Academic Development is a newly formed department with responsibility for providing teaching, training, resources and support across the University community of staff and students. The department brings together four teams including the English Language Centre, Student Learning Services, Digital Education, and Educational Development. The English Language Centre works with partners to offer a range of high quality pre-sessional courses and in-sessional credit-rated modules on a variety of programmes. The ELC is committed to ensuring an excellent student experience for our international student body and provides support for students and staff across all three faculties and at all stages of study. The English Language Centre is seeking to appoint a lecturer in English for Academic Purposes. You will work across a range of pre-sessional programmes, in-sessional modules, and academic English language development activities, and you will contribute to our growing TESOL offer. You will have substantial experience of teaching EAP in a higher education context. You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to research-informed teaching and to supporting student learning both face to face and online. You will play a significant role in developing all aspects of the English Language Centre’s provision by working proactively with colleagues in the ELC and Academic Development, and across the University. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively as part of a team. This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed-term basis until Wednesday 31 July 2024 due to Absence cover.
