The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible to the Director of Environmental Services and supervises Housekeeper I’s and II’s.   Is in daily contact with co-workers and managers.   May have contact with repair people, vendors, senior hospital executives, physicians/medical staff, and patients/families.  Requires a normal, responsive relationship indicating sensitivity to other people.   Must maintain as confidential information gained in the process of doing one’s own work.   Must demonstrate the ability to cooperate with others
Education Required:
Requires High School Diploma and two years housekeeping experience.   Supervisory experience preferred.  Requires self-discipline to perform work specifically assigned.  Requires a display of personal attitude, courtesy and appearance for others to look favorably on the institution (much contact with public).  Required to understand either verbal or written communications and instruction.  Must be able to interpret written warnings as posted on doorways and chemicals.  Requires use of judgment making decisions adherence to standards. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.  Requires High School Diploma.
Previous Related Experience Required:
Two years housekeeping experience.   Supervisory experience preferred.
Special Skills or Attributes Required:
Adequate conversational English is required in order that the individual be able to take direction from management, understand how to complete job tasks, communicate adequately with patients and co-workers as necessary, understand and follow safety guidelines, and understand the Associate Handbook and all hospital policies.
Must also be able to walk, stand extensively, bend, stoop, squat, visually discriminate close objects, hear and distinguish normal sounds
