About ICTHEATRE
ICTheatre was established in Brighton in 2017. Our ethos is to provide training that is representative of the contemporary landscape of the Performing Arts sector. We believe in a pragmatic approach. While delivering discipline specific training to the highest standard, we also focus on the development of entrepreneurial skills and we have personal development embedded into the curriculum. Our aim is to equip students with the skills to take control of their own career paths, to be able to make work as well as pursue opportunities. We want to broaden their perspectives on potential career options. The student is at the heart of everything we do. Person Specification
The post holder will make a significant contribution in the provision of support to ensure the smooth running of the Musical Theatre route at ICTheatre Brighton. We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual, with a strong background in musical theatre. The role will necessitate strong communication with the lecturers and curriculum teams to ensure teaching and learning is of the high standards synonymous with ICTheatre.
The successful candidate will be a team player who is used to working to tight deadlines and ensuring that teaching staff and students alike are able to meet exacting standards of educational excellence.
Essential Criteria for Applicant
• Industry experience with a high level of professional skills in your specialist field
• Significant teaching experience
• Commitment to and expectation of the highest standards from staff and students for whom you are responsible
• Strong organisational skills
• Student centric approach
• A teaching qualification or commitment to gaining one
Desirable Criteria for Applicant
• Experience in similar role
• Dedicated to continued personal development
• People management Experience
Key responsibilities:
• Oversee planning and delivery and reporting on taught sessions
• Developing teaching and learning strategies
• Liaising with assessment teams so that students and staff know exactly what they are doing and ensuring that assessments serve the learning outcomes and pedagogical direction
• Monitoring quality of VLE and staff/student engagement with it
• Ensuring consistency in managing student experience
• Feeding back to Head of Education on staff training needs
• Ensuring that quality and development of course is reported back regularly to Head of Education
• Module reports
• Pedagogical development
• Overview of schemes of work for specific pathway
• Feeding into masterclasses and Industry events
• Outreach an active participation in this
• Audition days and open days
• Holding staff meetings
• Building relationships with community and industry partners
• Liaising with student and learning support
• Teaching hours as required
• Marking and moderation
• Input on timetabling
• Oversight of personal tutor group
• Recruit teaching staff identifying best practice and fair process.
• Providing ongoing advice and support to students in their studies
