Job Description
Falk College is seeking a part-time instructor to teach SWK 628 Sec. M701 Human Diversity in Social Contexts for the Summer 2022 semester (5/16/22-8/26/22), online 90-minute Synchronous Session w/asynchronous content management. Course Description: Diversity, including race, gender, sexual orientation, and selected topics. Examines individual, group, and institutional identity formation. Theories of biopsychosocial development, reference group affiliation, social stratification, oppression, and institutional discrimination. Implications for social work practice.
Diversity in the richness of its many dimensions is examined in this course. A primary focus will be given to ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation, social class, and disability. Concepts, theories, research, personal experiences and practice principles, pertaining to psychosocial development, identity formation, group processes, institutional discrimination, class stratification, society and culture, guide this examination. The aim is that students will develop self-awareness regarding their own thoughts, feelings, attitudes and behaviors in reaction to course discussions, readings, and films. Opportunities are given for students to engage in both personal and professional awareness of these issues and how they may impact their interactions with persons from various minority groups.
Qualifications
Qualification is an MSW with previous online graduate-level social work teaching experience preferred. Candidate must have 2 years post-masters experience.

Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
Meeting all designated class periods.
Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
