JOB SUMMARY The Honors Program is looking for a Student Services Program Administrator to serve as an advisor to students in special communities within the Honors Program, as well as develop, implement, and coordinate student development programs for this population. Reporting to the Associate Director for Enrollment Management, this person will support the academic mission of the Honors Program. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide programmatic advising for all assigned Honors students. Provide secondary advising regarding Honors Program requirements and policies to all Honors students. Assist with Honors orientation programs and academic advising for new students. Track and manage student progress toward achieving Honors and STEM Scholar requirements. Collaborate with other University offices and external partners to provide enrichment opportunities, such as leadership, professional, and community development, internships, research, and study abroad for STEM Scholars and other Honors students. Assist with the intervention programs for Honors students to help them achieve success. Assist with the annual review of students eligible for probation or dismissal from Honors. Coordinate other special projects and programs as assigned by the Associate Director. Serve on Honors Program and University-wide committees as requested/approved by the Associate Director. Represent the Honors Program at UConn events as assigned; assist with Honors Program events. Some events will require weekend and evening hours. Assist with the development and maintenance of Honors advisor training programs. Conduct workshops for students and others about Honors requirements and special community participation. Assist in developing and updating Honors advising communications. Assist in the development of publications and materials related to the Honors Program. Complete other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree. 5 years of experience working with students in a professional advising, mentoring, or counseling role, with at least one year serving as an advanced team member. Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, and implementing program services and activities. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to manage and perform administrative functions. Ability to successfully advise undergraduate students and interpret educational records and data related to student academic performance and progress. Excellent organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and administrators as well as external constituents, and the public. Experience working with diverse, underrepresented, and/or first-generation students. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in counseling, education, or a related field. Experience in an Honors program or college as a student or staff member. Professional work experience at a large university. Professional experience working with undergraduate students. Experience working with high-achieving students. Demonstrated experience prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice. Experience with assessment and program evaluation. Proven ability to work independently and solve problems and approach challenges in a flexible and/or creative way. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot problems that interfere with the student's academic progress and work effectively to resolve them. APPOINTMENT TERMS This is a permanent full-time position. The University offers a competitive salary and outstanding benefits including employee and dependent tuition waivers at UConn. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience, within the range of $63,000 - $67,000.Other rights, terms, and conditions of employment are contained in the collective bargaining agreement between the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut Professional Employees Association (UCPEA).
