Job Description:
The Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at Assumption University seeks to hire one to two part-time adjunct instructors for the fall 2022 semester. The department needs to staff one section of BIO230: Plant Biology and one section of BIO230L: Plant Biology Laboratory. Both sections are capped at 20 students. Class meetings run from August 24 to December 10, which includes the final exam week.
* BIO230.01 Plant Biology meets MWF 11:30 am - 12:20 pm
* BIO230L.01 Plant Biology Laboratory meets Th 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Adjuncts are welcomed as important contributors to the department, to our students, and are provided with office space, email, voicemail, support for using our learning management system (Brightspace), and other resources needed for quality teaching. Successful candidates may have the possibility of teaching additional courses in subsequent semesters.
Requirements:
Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
Applicants should have a PhD in Biology or a related field. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered.
