Exciting opportunity for a new Research Assistant position in our Brain Tumour Centre of Excellence in Plymouth. The centre currently hosts three research groups with about 25 researchers including PhD students working in state-of-the-art facilities: ****The facilities have a laboratory manager, a senior research assistant and a senior cell culture technician as well as additional research support staff. Our centre also hosts a large biobank of brain tumours. You will be working under experienced supervision and be part of a friendly, multicultural and collaborative growing team. Initially the position, grade 3/4, is for three years. Experience in cell culture and biobank curation, handling human bio samples is of advantage. Duties will include be responsible of all aspect of cell culture, growing and routine testing of cell line, media and buffer preparation, ordering of consumables, helping to maintain cleanliness and generally ensuring the smooth running of the facilities Opportunities for personal development as well as engagement with the vibrant and cross disciplinary research community will be available.
