OVERVIEW
The Princeton Visual AI lab (****is looking for a Lab Coordinator & Administrator to assist with project management and fundraising.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with grant submission and management: work closely with the PI to finalize grant proposals, draft research progress reports, work with the department’s grant managers to oversee the allocation of expenses to grants and grant submissions, ensure that all supplementary documents are up to date.
Manage lab operations: hire and manage hourly employees, coordinate and schedule meetings, maintain the lab website, finalize and submit letters of recommendation, assist with IRB submissions.
Serve as the lab’s representative with external entities such as data collection companies (e.g., Upwork, SuperAnnotate, Appen), including both helping to negotiate contracts (working closely with the Princeton procurement and legal teams) as well as overseeing project progress.
Lead the organizational logistics for workshops hosted by the lab.
The Lab Coordinator & Administrator will also have an opportunity to get more deeply involved in the lab’s research and outreach work, depending on their background and interest. For example, they may support the admissions and/or curriculum development process at the Princeton AI4ALL (****outreach program. They may become more deeply involved in the grant writing process or workshop organization. In exceptional circumstances they may have opportunities to directly contribute to and co-author research publications.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in Computer Science or related fields
3-5 years experience in project management. Candidates with strong computer vision background in lieu of project management experience will be considered.
Coursework, research and/or job experience in computer vision or related fields. For example, the Lab Coordinator & Administrator should be able to write a 1-2 paragraph summary of research progress on an NSF grant (****based on our ECCV’20 (captioning), NeurIPS’20 and ICCV’21 research papers (****Exceptional time management
Exceptional attention to detail
Exceptional ability to proactively manage deadlines
Excellent ability to seamlessly interact with diverse stakeholders: the PI, trainees (undergraduate, graduate, postdocs, high school students), collaborators (academic, industry, nonprofit), computer science department staff (technical support, grants management, business), other entities on campus (legal, IRB, procurement)
Excellent scientific writing skills
Proficiency with Google docs/spreadsheets/presentations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Computer Science or related fields
Experience managing lab finances
Working knowledge of latex, html, css
