JOB OVERVIEW
The Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Accessibility Resources. The coordinator is responsible for coordinating reasonable accommodations and support services for students with disabilities. Reasonable accommodation coordination involves conducting intake interviews, making recommendations regarding reasonable accommodations, determining accommodations appropriate to the specific disability and consistent with disability law and standards of practice in higher education, and providing follow-up and support to students.
This position also serves as a resource for the university community on matters related to students with disabilities enrolled at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.. The Program Coordinator works to support the mission of the Division of Student Affairs and **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., coordinates services applicable to an assigned caseload, and serves as a University resource by conducting educational programs and presentations regarding disability/accessibility-related issues and the services provided by Accessibility Resources and performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*Design/create and conduct seminars, classes, workshops or programs. *Develop program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives. Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement. *Provide financial administrative supported for program initiatives. *Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires. Compile statistics and prepare reports. *Develop and implement marketing strategies to recruit students and program participants. *Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments. *May conduct research and analyze relevant literature, other benchmark information to develop grant proposals, new program ideas and propose program changes. *May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). *Perform related duties based on departmental need.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
*Bachelor's Degree. *Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS CONSIDERED
*Bachelor's degree in a field related to education, psychology, or social services. *Minimum of three years' experience working with post-secondary students with disabilities. *Demonstrated mastery of relevant legislation - Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504, and related standards. *Expertise in evaluating documentation of disability, determining eligibility for services and accommodations, and generating a plan for the provisions of services and accommodations. *Strong and effective communication skills. *Outstanding organizational skills. *Proficient in Microsoft Office.
