WGU Advancement
WGU Advancement is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2018 as the official fundraising arm of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (WGU) and its affiliates. Since its founding, WGU Advancement has dedicated itself to making high-quality, career-based education affordable and attainable for all by increasing and improving access to higher education and accelerating innovations in learning on behalf of students. WGU Advancement partners with foundations, corporations, associations, employees, students, and alumni to support scholarships, explore new learning models, and implement new technologies that reinvigorate the promise of higher education.
About the role:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Development the Development Special Projects Manager will support the Development team of frontline fundraisers by producing standard processes for multiple functions across the department including data capture, analysis, and reporting; supporting frontline fundraising projects and events; anddeveloping a repository of print and digital resources for use by the larger team. On occasion, this position will perform administrative duties that support the greater team, and work in collaboration with other Advancement units. This role provides recommendations and solutions to drive improvements for the business.
This is a remote position that can be located in the 48 contiguous United States.
What you will do:
Analyzes current processes, particularly in relation to data capture and reporting, and recommends and implements improvements
Develops and fosters relationships with team members to gain understanding and knowledge of projects and plans, organizes, monitors, and manages all phases the projects.
Successfully monitors project status and adherence to schedules, requirements, and deadlines. Supports the Development and Engagement teams with event logistics and planning.
Keeps stakeholders and departmental leadership informed of project statuses, including, but not limited to, milestone achievements, progress, risks, and any issues that may adversely affect project schedules.
Produces timely and accurate reports on fundraising activity, as directed.
Performs audits related to fundraising activity, as directed.
Understands departmental strategic priorities and influences the actions and work efforts of team members in line with those priorities.
Responds with urgency to organization needs and exhibits excellent judgment to deliver results.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Self-directs with a strong bias for action
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional experience in fundraising operations, communications, strategic marketing, donor relations or a comparable role with transferable skills including project management, writing, and data analysis.
2 years of experience managing projects and resources
Demonstrated strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Adobe for correspondence, special reports, spreadsheets, databases, forms, etc.
Demonstrated ability to accurately query, report and analyze data sets utilizing enterprise-level client relationship management software; SalesForce or equivalent
Detail-oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Strong
decision-making and critical thinking skills
Experience and/or willingness to learn publishing software (InDesign).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Higher Education Fundraising
Experience developing a Share Point site
Physical Requirements:
less than 10% travel
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
