Position: Research & Data Associate
This is a Research & Data Associate role reporting directly to the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and the Executive Director of Strategic Initiatives (EDSI). This position will provide data reporting, analytics on projects, research and website updates, social media presence creation, event planning logistics, and administrative tasks. The role will provide general support on the implementation of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) and Strategic Initiatives (SI) projects. This position is included in the Federation of Administrators union.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor semiannual completion of the equity scorecard, which reflects progress on various initiatives pursuant to the diversity, equity and inclusion strategic plan; provide periodic reports to the CDO regarding status of the equity scorecard; and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Work with Institutional Research & Effectiveness to prepare periodic reports regarding employee and student demographics, and key performance indicators.
Research and collect relevant content for the Virtual Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Center, and work with Strategic Marketing to update and maintain the virtual center.
Work as part of a team to develop DE&I and SI awareness strategies, including proposing new ideas and concepts to effectively communicate with campus and community constituents.
Create and manage departments’ social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and other emerging platforms to implement DE&I and SI social media strategy; creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content for social media campaigns; and collects and analyzes data to optimize visits.
Assist in annual report production for DE&I and SI.
Assist with event planning logistics and implementation, including overseeing the set-up, execution and cleanup of events.
Perform administrative tasks such as (but not limited to) greet visitors, answer telephones, respond to inquiries via telephone or email, take messages, set up meetings, create purchase orders, maintain office supplies, file and photocopy.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical education and 1-2 years of job-related experience or technical proficiency in appropriate field.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in project management, research, or data analysis; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Ability to maintain strict level of confidence; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; and Ability to multitask efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Human Resources; Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with human resources data; Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills; and Ability to use social media for impressions and brand awareness.
