Behavior Interventionist - Long Term Substitute
Hunt Middle School is seeking a passionate and energetic Long Term Substitute for a Behavior Interventionist position to join a school committed to high levels of achievement of all students. The period of subbing would start January 3, 2023, and continue to at least February 3, 2023. This position requires working with students, teachers and members of our student support team.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting students with challenging behavior that often prevents them from getting to class or staying in class
Supporting existing behavior plans
Working with the Student Support Team: Dean of Students, RP Specialist, Student Support Center paraeducator, school counselors, social workers and Assistant Principal in coordinating support for students with behavioral challenges
Working with teachers and the Student Support Team to create, communicate and monitor behavior plans
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Required Qualifications:
Understanding of Cultural Competency (as explained through Essay 1 on SchoolSpring).
Knowledge of best practices regarding frameworks of student behavioral support.
Ability to work with students who have challenging behaviors
Preferred Attributes:
Experience working at the middle school level
Experience as a behavior interventionist or paraeducator
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in accordance with Federal Law (FERPA)
Maintain a safe learning environment, take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities
Maintain and enforce District Policies, regulations, and procedures
Prepare/complete appropriate reports/paperwork
Attendance in accordance with established days/hours of work
