PARAEDUCATOR VACANCY

DESCRIPTION:
To assist professionals in supplying individualized instruction to elementary students in the classroom and small group environments. To facilitate and supplement the educational process under the direction of a professional staff member. Responsibilities include communication facilitation, carrying out programs designed by the teaching staff, managing behavior, teaching self-regulation skills, and supporting and facilitating social engagement with peers. Physical responsibilities include lifting, carrying, personal care, and the ability to assess a situation and respond quickly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications include but are not limited to: high school diploma plus at least 2 years of additional education; minimum of two years experience in education or related field; ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with students, parents, and school staff.
SALARY:
As per the Master Agreement between the Burlington Board of School Commissioners and the Paraeducators of the Burlington School District.
Health and life insurance benefits are available for this position after a period of 45 working days. Dental benefits available after 1 full working year.
