.5 Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Districtwide Position
Reports to: Director of Student Services
Position Summary:
Sudbury Public Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing who will work collaboratively with the team and be primarily responsible for the development of appropriate curricula, daily high-quality instruction, and the on-going success of each and every student in the classroom.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide direct instruction and/or consultative services to students on assigned caseload as documented in student IEPs.
• Conduct assessments for initial or special re-evaluations in order to determine student’s academic and communication needs.
• Provide basic training to students and teachers on individual and/ or classroom amplification systems used by students.
• Collaborate and consult with team members to develop IEPs that will meet the identified student’s needs.
• Train students and staff members on the implementation of assistive technology devices related to hearing impairments.
• Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
• Evaluate academic growth of students and maintain appropriate records;
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development;
• Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues;
• Complete other related duties as assigned.
Classification: Individual contract
Regular Work Year: 183 days (.5 FTE) - Prorated based on FTE and date of hire
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
Must have a valid Massachusetts licensure through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education.
