Position Description:
The Department of Anthropology at the University of Louisville invites applications for a full-time, tenure track assistant professor of anthropological archaeology. The successful candidate will have research expertise in local (central Ohio Valley) precontact archaeology and experience directing field projects in this region. We seek a candidate who will work as an affiliated research faculty at UofL's Center for Archaeology and Cultural Heritage (CACHe) and provide undergraduate and graduate research experiences and courses focused on climate change, migration, and Midwest archaeology. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to engaged learning initiatives in the department, advise masters students, mentor undergraduate anthropology majors and minors, and participate in departmental activities. Candidates with experience working with Indigenous communities, public archaeology, and contract archaeology are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates must have completed the Ph.D. by the time of appointment in August 2023.
