Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Vice President of Enrollment Management and working collaboratively with multiple units in Institutional Effectiveness, Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs, the Enrollment Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, integrating, analyzing, and reporting on admission, enrollment, and financial aid data. Analyst will work closely with Institutional Effectiveness Office, which has oversight of institutional data, to coordinate consistent implementation of data quality control measures to ensure data are appropriately accessible and usable for institutional decision-making.
The Enrollment Data Analyst will develop and maintain reports on recruitment and retention and provide support in the analysis of the effectiveness of financial aid leveraging strategies and various student recruitment and retention initiatives. The Enrollment Data Analyst will adhere to institutional processes and data standards maintained by Institutional Effectiveness Office, to ensure data are appropriately accessible and usable for institutional decision-making. They will create interactive data visualizations on trends and key performance metrics related to admissions, enrollment, institutional aid, and tuition revenue.
The Enrollment Data Analyst will develop processes for data preparation, including collecting, cleaning, and consolidating data from disparate systems. They will work closely with the institution's admission, enrollment, and student financial services teams to optimize the methods used for extracting, merging, and storing relevant data for analysis purposes.
To be successful in the role, candidates will have a strong record of accomplishment in data management, analysis, and visualization, and bring a data driven mindset to the team. They must be a self-starter, have a keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills, and be able to thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions:
Write queries and extract large data sets from various systems including customer relationship management (CRM), student information system (SIS), and financial aid system.
Transform raw data to prepared datasets for analysis and reporting; build data flows that combine, shape, and clean data for analysis; maintain and refresh datasets as needed.
Track and report on trends and key performance metrics related to enrollment, student success, persistence, and graduation.
Prepare reports of findings and present data graphically and in narrative form. Maintain, update, and distribute regular scheduled reports.
Create, maintain, and update data visualizations and dashboards. Provide broad support for Enrollment Management and Student Success department, including routine data management and data clean up, ad hoc project support, organization of report inventory, and management of reporting software licenses.
Work collaboratively with Institutional Effectiveness to support institutional processes by collecting and analyzing enrollment data and making recommendations for process improvements.
Participate in technology project implementation teams, as needed.
Stay informed on industry trends, technology, new innovations in enrollment management, student financial aid, retention, and student success.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, data analytics, or related field.
3 years of experience in data analysis, institutional research and/or data reporting.
Strong technical, statistical, and reporting skills.
Ability to join data from various databases and systems into workable data sets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Creative, open minded, and enthusiastic about seeking innovative solutions to challenges.
Ability to summarize analytical work and present findings in a visually compelling way to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in business, data analytics, higher education, or related field.
3 years of experience in data analysis, institutional research, and reporting in higher education.
Experience with the analysis of the interplay between enrollment management, student success & persistence, and financial aid leveraging.
Advanced level Microsoft Excel and experience with reporting, business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g. SAS, Cognos, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with various enterprise software solutions for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) (e.g. Salesforce), Student Information Systems (SIS) (e.g. Banner), and/or data visualization and preparation (e.g. Tableau Desktop.
Ability to use query language (e.g. SQL) to select, extract, and manipulate data.
