Job Description
Peter Noyes Elementary School is seeking a Guidance Counselor who will perform the job duties listed below:
-Implement and oversee elementary school guidance program that provides students with a safe and non-judgmental way to voice
concerns or worries.
-Create and Implement goals for students on IEP and 504 plans.
-Assist school administrators and educators with planning and carrying out school-related programs and events.
-Analyze student performance in the classroom to provide guidance and identify potential problems.
-Develop strong professional relationships with students to help serve them better, both academically and emotionally.
-Help students develop academic plans in accordance with their skills, talents and strengths
-Work collaboratively with the school nurse and other supportive staff
-Facilitate crisis intervention and prevention programs.
-Communicate with teachers, parents and administrators on an ongoing basis about behavioral and academic problems Position Type:

Job Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
1.Master’s degree in counseling/mental health;
2.Supervised experience within the last five years as an elementary school level counselor, school psychologist, adjustment counselor (intern or apprentice in the area of guidance);
3.Massachusetts certification as a school guidance counselor, school adjustment counselor, and/or school psychologist;
4.Familiarity with the regulations pertaining to Chapter 766;
5.Knowledge and skills in working as a member of a multidisciplinary team;
6. Experience with children with social, emotional, and behavioral regulation challenges;
7. Familiarity with the needs of children on the autism spectrum and related sensory and/or emotional regulation challenges;
8. Creating and Implementing goals for students on IEP and 504 plans.
9. Experience working with families and accessing services of community and outside agencies;
10.Experience with diverse populations and commitment to Sudbury goals of diversity and inclusion;
11.Possess those personal and professional characteristics necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
12.Serve as a liaison between families and school
At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Master degree preferred
