Austin - Employment and Education Associate Higher Education Practice Group

\u003cp\u003eLittler Mendelson P.C. is seeking an attorney with a minimum of 3-6 years\u0027 employment and education law experience to join the Austin office. Some experience in higher education and/or representing public entities is strongly preferred. Candidates in Dallas and Houston will also be considered, as the practice serves clients across Texas and the country. The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials and their experience should include meaningful litigation experience. The attorney will be tasked with advising public and private universities, academic medical institutions, and community colleges on a variety of legal and compliance matters, including employment and student-related litigation, internal investigations, federal and state compliance investigations, and advice and counseling. In addition to covering traditional areas of employment law, the attorney will be expected to practice in areas particularly applicable to higher education clients, such as Title IX and the Clery Act, Title VI, Department of Education enforcement investigations, constitutional concerns applicable to public employers, and research grant compliance regarding employment-related matters. Experience in collegiate athletics and NCAA compliance is a relevant consideration, although not required. The candidate must be licensed to practice law in Texas or be qualified for admission in Texas by reciprocity based on licensure in another state.\u003c/p\u003e
